Jennifer Gidley Pet Artist

I’m Jennifer, a pet portrait artist living in the Midwestern United States with my husband, three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and one cat. 

 

The two constant passions in my life, beginning with my earliest memories, have been art and animals. While I studied fine art at university, I spent the first part of my professional career as a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice. While I loved working directly to help animals, I realized after years in the field that something was still missing. While I couldn’t imagine giving up my passion for animals, I missed my artistic roots. Having been commissioned for a handful of pet portraits for friends over the years, I decided to jump headfirst into making a career of the artform in mid 2020. 

 

My media of choice are soft pastels and acrylic paint, depending on the preference of the client. I use high quality artist grade materials to ensure the longevity of each piece. I typically work from high quality photos, taking care to make the piece as accurate as possible while also focusing on expressing the personality of each pet.
